I am taking it easy today. I heard it was sposed to rain this weekend, but this Saturday morning is BEAUTIFUL! So I am taking advantage of the sunpuddles.
Mommy had a beautiful day Thursday to go pay her rent. I am glad she got it all up to date, but I am worried about her foodies this month. Her green papers aren't stretching so much.
Her last diabetes test was really good, but she goes back to another doctor on Monday for other medicine checkups. Then Tuesday Barb is coming to visit (I hope I hope).
We found out that Mommy's insulin pens are now way too expensive for the rest of the year and she has to go back to insulin bottles and syringes like when she first got diabetes. And can't get them at her regular pharmacy cause they are cheaper at Walmart. Which she never really goes to, but oh well, now she will have to. Great going, insurants peoples! Our regular pharmacy will continue to deliver her other meds.
As for the foodies for Mommy, she doesn't qualify for any government help, although she does go to a food shelf regularly. She signed up for some freebies on line today, but the foodie part is for restaurant stuff and places we've never heard of. At least she got some laundry soap and lotion and, well, some free teas. I don't think the tea counts as food, though. And with no printer (ours hasn't worked since before I came here), we don't get coupons for food stuff.
I am so glad lots of our friends got to go to BlogPaws this year! We couldn't go, of course, but we like reading about the happenings. From the reports we've read this morning everyone is enjoying themselves. We wish we could get some of that free swag stuff, but oh, well. The reading part is fun. And Mommy and I are together.
Mommy was smart last month and got some coffee at Amazon, and she got a really good deal on her K-cups so we don't have to worry about her caffeine for a while. I'm grateful!!
I'm going to sit on the chair on the top of it and look out at the sunny stuff now.
love ya,
QUINN

Memorial Weekend
Happy Caturday! This is sort of a picture of my Mommy today. Before her coffee. MOL
It is sposed to be kinda rainy and grey most of this weekend, so that means less sunpuddles and more naps.
I do hope your Memorial Day weekend is nicer.
Now this weekend Mommy says we are to remember and honor all the nice military people present and past that have defended freedom. I think this should be ALL military people, not just United States military. Freedom is important for everyone all over the world.
Especially remember those who gave their lives for freedom. This is not to say ignore the present military by any means. But as you say a little prayer for those who are military today, please remember all the families who sent their dear ones off and made the biggest sacrifice. Their dear ones fought for your freedom. And never made it home again.
Remember especially this weekend:
Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. Freedom! It is hard earned, but oh so sacred.

Today is...
Happy Tuxie Tuesday!!!
I did something special for Mommy today. Okay, I do nice things for my Mommy a lot, but she said this was very special. I gave her lots of real biscuits (something I don't really do) and laid down on her for "Mommy and Me" time. And I really haven't stopped purring all morning. Right now I am sitting on the chair which is next to the puter so I can dictate my entry for today. And get occasional rubbies, of course. It is so sunny out today and I hope it lasts.
Still purring!!
Mommy has to go to the clinic tomorrow, so I will miss her a lot. But she has regular blood stealing stuff to do (Mommy calls it "labs") and she sees her diabetic nurse regularly. She is going to disappear frequently today to do laundry. And she said be prepared for her to leave a few times the rest of the week. She has some errands to run.
Her knee has been bugging her this week, so the errands need to be spread out a bit. I understand.
Mommy said if there is a pill for stopping purring it will not be in this home!
Now the sun has gone behind some clouds so I need to do some serious talking to it!
Love ya all,
Have a gorgeous day,
purring QUINN

Caturday is HERE!
We are back on a semi-regular schedule, I guess. Mommy thought this picture was cute. No, we don't have any spyware for real, but Mommy thinks this kind of spyware is kinda cute and nobody could ever not want this kind!
Caturday is starting out very sunny and bright, and it is now in the upper 50's this morning. I have now been furminated and foodied, although I distracted somebody from her coffee and foodies. *snicker* I may have to let her have those soon, or she will.... I don't know, but I don't want to find out!
We have been gone so long I don't think we have many readers following us anymore. I really don't blame them. There are lots of interesting blogs to read these days. But we have been around for years and don't intend to stop blogging now. Just maybe not every day. We'll try, though.
Hope you all have a beautiful day today, and don't forget your Mommies AND daddies this weekend. That means try not to trash the house for once!
love ya,

A Special Thankful Thursday!
We've missed so much in the blogosphere! We have posted comments to a few of you, but that doesn't mean we didn't think of all of you and wish you well. And pray for you all, four footed and two footed.
Today we found out that our dear friend Nerissa is in heaven. Not fair at all. We will miss him a lot! I hope he gets to run and play and nip out with others that are there. MOUSES! Hope my sister brandi had a nice greeting for him (she always liked him almost as much as Hendrix).
Mommy has been dealing with some serious health problems and mounting medical bills, plus of course, dealing with missing her brother. This may sound silly, but could you all watch NCIS just one time (even if you're not a fan) in his honor? He loved that show. Actually, so does Mommy. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. It won't cost you anything but an hour of your time!
We don't want to burden you with our problems and that's why we have been absent here. Anyone want to start an auction for us? MOUSES! as Nissy would say. It would be so kind!
Now, since it is Thursday, and Thankful Thursday at that, I am going to turn this over to Mommy cause I am too humble to tell you this:
A TRUE STORY
We had an odor problem in our apartment for a couple days this week. I took out all the garbage, made sure the litter box wasn't offending (it wasn't. It's like two feet from the head of my bed! I would definitely know!). Sniffed all over for this mildly irritating smell. Then, two nights ago my sweet Quinnie poked and prodded me around 4 in the morning. The odor was horrible. I finally figured out I should check the stove. Yes, it was the gas leaking, getting stronger and stronger. I must have bumped one of the dials God knows when (still getting used to my walker) and never noticed and it didn't light, just spewed gas. I opened a couple of windows and burrowed down with a blanket for the rest of the night. It was cold out that night! I don't know what would have happened to us both if Quinn hadn't poked and prodded and pawed me over and over till I woke up. I believe that Quinnie is my own personal hero! Yes, she is a little diva, and loves to be petted and scritchied at the most inappropriate times and refuses to eat from my hands, but she got a lot of extra extra pets and scritchies and kisses all that day. I am so thankful for my little hero, Quinnie! Okay, Quinnie Makayla, back to you.
Back to me, Quinn!
I don't think I am so special. I just took care of us, as usual. MOUSES! A little beyond nursie, that's for sure! But what any good kitty would do!
love ya all,
Quinn and Mommy Carol
and lots of MOUSES in Nissy's MOUSES honor. MOUSES!
