Tuesday morning I was very very upset. I wished very hard that I was a service cat like Dezi and Lexi. You see, my mommy had fallen and she had hit her head and while she was awake, she couldn't get up. All I could do was meow and meow and meow. It was early in the morning and Mommy had gotten up to clean the kitchen, which was the last thing she had to do before the annual inspection. When she had gotten up off the floor with the help of her walker, I could tell she was shaky. Her elbow hurted her, and her back and head and even one of her thumbs. I meowed to her that she better sit down. So she didn't even bother to clean. She sat down. She was afraid to take a pill for her pain because she thought she might have a concussion. She said she was dizzy. She called her clinic as soon as they were open which they almost were and talked to one of the nursies. They talked to one of her doctors and changed a couple of her pills she had recently changed. Then she called the guy in the building who helps her once in a while and asked him to finish cleaning for her. He agreed to come the next morning. When the manager came she explained she wasn't ready and explained she had hurt herself that morning. And she was having our place cleaned the next day. And she already talked to her clinic and had some pills changed. Her pharmacy would deliver it the next afternoon. The manager agreed to come back on Friday.
She got the rest of her stuff taken care of and they are doing the inspection tomorrow. Now, she is doing okay, but uses her cane whenever she gets up, and is taking her blood pressure a lot and her back still has twinges.
Now you know why I wished very hard that I was a real service cat. I'm not trained to help Mommy if she is seriously hurt. We came through okay, but it was really crazy and scary.
The way I am helping? I am curling up tightly next to her when she goes to bed and purring her to sleep at night, and curling up in my SleepyPod next to her when she is in the living room.
I still regret not being a service cat, but I know my purrs are helping her heal!
Hope you have had a better week than us.
love ya,
QUINN

We are so sorry to hear your mom had a bad fall.
Thank goodness she is doing OK now.
Does your mom have any kind of service where someone can check
on her every couple of days or weekly to see she is well?
We would hate to have her hurt and laying for days.
Good thing you are there Quinn.
Your company is probably the best medicine right now.

Your poor Mom! We are sending lots of purrs for her. Your love will help her feel better soon.
XOXO
We don't have any service that checks on us. I wish there was, but such things cost money that we can't afford, and we don't qualify for any type of social services like that.

We are very sorry to hear of your Mom's troubles. That is very scary.
Hoping that never happens again. That had to be terrifying. You should get one of those alert things that you can wear around your neck.....if you fall, you just have to press a button to call for help. So sorry this happened to you.

Oh, no. We know the feeling of your human going down and not being able to do anything to help. We are glad your mom had good sense and asked someone to come help her and to ask the manager to delay the inspection. And to not take any medication until checking with her cliic! We hope she is okay and is taking it easy.
Oh Quinn, we's so sorry this happened to yous mommy and you. It sounds like you did da right thing tho' by meowin' fur her to sit down. And it was very nice of yous manager to reschedule da inspection and fur da neighbor to help yous mommy clean up. We see mommy fall a lot. Unfurtunately even we can't make mommy not fall. And we's sure yous urrin' and cuddlin' is helpin' her. Mommy sez it always helps her. It's good fur our mommy's to use sumfin' to help them walk round. Mommy calls herself a furniture walker, cuz she's always holdin' onto sum piece of furniture when she walks round our partment. We know those services ain't cheap, but maybe you kuld qualify fur home health and get an aid thru Medicaire to come out a few times a week. MMommy saw a commercial just today fur a new "fallen and can't get up" button thingy. It sed it was like $20.00 at Walmart with da furst month of monitorin' fur free. We wuldn't know how much it wuld cost after dat, but might be sumfin' to look into ifin ya' can't get home health. Anyways, we's just glad you both are okay. Take care of yous mommy, we know she purreciates you bein there.
Luv ya'
Dezi and Lexi

Wow! Sending POTP!!
You know, just being there and purring is good therapy. And when your Mom pets you that is good therapy too.. She is blessed to have you there, Quinn!
Do you know what? I bet you're helping your mum even more than you know. I bet she feels better just having you there with her right now, curled up beside her, and loving her like only you can.
Purrs,
Seville
