The Lord Giveth...

and the Lord Taketh Away. After her first month on her new jobbie (a month!) mama wrote most of a department manual for one of the departments, created new excel spreadsheets for the department, learned a nifty new computer program and ran spreadsheets from it, re-organized one of the supply areas, and took minutes and published them on a "share drive" (they had only ever posted the agendas) and although she was promised training to assist another department (little happened except for a lot of filing projects to complete) she was told she didn't fit in last Friday. She feels used ( after all, she created almost an entire department manual and set up new reports for that department)and lied to ( how can you fit in to a department if you are not trained in and only told to go file?) and she left with her head held high. But now we are jobbie-less again!

She has been jobbie hunting again, and today went out in the neighborhood and did some free marketing stuff for one of the local coffee places. You never know.

This has hit us very hard. This was kinda nasty. We were trying to get back on our feets.

Please purray verry verry hard for us.

Although we might not be blogging a lot right now, we will try to catch up on efurry blog, and post comments when we can. No more pizza for awhile.

Bless you all,

brandi and Carol

Bummer Miss Brandi. Some businesses are so strange, mum says it doesn't even pay to try to understand why they do such wierd things. Me and mum will say lots of purrayers for you.

Gad! I hope your Mama is at least going to get a good letter of reference from those people!

She should put in for unemployment, as well. This borders on unjustified termination.

Darn, darn, darn. The same thing happened to a good friend of mine. The good thing was she learned all this new software while she was at the job so it made it easier for her to get the next one, that she kept for a long time (til she left to go back to school) Good luck finding a new & BETTER job! We'll be purraying for you both. T.

We are very sorry about this, I know that you felt like you were just getting on your feet, and now the rug is pulled out from under.

Hope you got the grocery card. Please let us know if you didn't, cause we need to find out what happened to it! But we'll send you another one. :)

Oh dear bad news, I am sorry to hear that. I know it seems a futile thing to say but sometimes, when one door closes another one opens. You may look back in a year and think ' thank goodness I left that job otherwise i would never be in the good one I am in now!'. It happened to my human! :-) x

That stinks.I'm so sorry your mom is having a rough time me and mommy will pray for her :)

It's wrong to treat another human the way you were treated. At least you got some new skills out of it. But a business that dumps on its personnel is going to fall, and fall hard. We'll be thinking of you and hoping you find something soon. ("Something better" almost goes without saying.)

Karen Jo said...

That is just a crying shame! Shame, shame on the business for treating your Mama like that! I am hoping and praying for your Mama to get a new jobbie.

Zoey and the furballs said...

We heard about your bad news from Mr. Hendrix. We are really very sorry that they didn't treat you better. Daddy lost his job a couple of months ago and it was very hard on us so we know some of what you are going through. We'll pray very hard for you and we know He'll send the right job your way.

hsss...grrr... I'd swipe them with my meezer claws if I could! That is just not right, a cat would never do that!

Thoughts and purrs with you both.

A thought -- is that company large enough to justify us all boycotting them?

If it is a local operation it likely wouldn't do much. But if this is a national (or even regional) company, all of us boycotting (and more important, telling them WHY we were boycotting) might pressure them a little. If nothing else, it might make it harder for them to dump on the next person.

Beyond that, think of that job as a four week paid training course, I guess. At least you got experience on some new software, which should help.

{{huggs}} and puurrrss to you all.

That totally sucks. I'm so sorry they did that to you. I think you were indeed used, but like someone said, this is probably not a nice place to work anyway. Doesn't help pay the bills though. I hope the interview today went well!
