Sadness

We have lost the apartment.

The monies we had received from the auction and other contributions were to help with the deposit and the first month's rent. They will still pay for this month's rent, if the landlord allows us to stay another month, and for (hopefully) a deposit on a new place next month. Mama hopes to be working temps shortly, so she will be getting an income at last, and after 40 hours of work, will be covered by insurance, also. Cross your paws that this will work.

He wants us to clean the apartment, but will not allow us to stay longer than a month. Sorry for the misconstrued information. We didn't think it was fair to clean a place he was going to completely gut and remodel. But if he lets us stay another month, we will. We don't feel safe here, but we are not going anywhere for the next month. It will give us more time to sort through stuff and pack. During the next months he will be replacing pipes in the ceilings of all the apartments, and that mess we want to not be here for. It would be way too scary and noisy, for one, and too dusty to live with. He has always not liked kitties, but merely tolerates us. Any excuse is a good one to get rid of catowners. Our time had come.

Mama misunderstood someone to say that there would be help with moving. If that was not the case, we are sorry. That is what we heard, and we were grateful. We did not mean to be greedy, or demanding, just appreciative and grateful. We will try to come up with something ourselves.

Thank you to everyone who has helped us in the past. We have made it this far with the help of our good friends on the cat blogosphere. Maybe it was too much to ask someone to help us with the apartment, but thank you all for trying and offering suggestions. We may call a cleaning service when we are packed up, just so the landlord will be happy. But hopefully we will not need one.

Mama says thank you to you all, and so do I. You have all helped us through a really bad place in our lives. We are sorry if you all think it's too much. It has made a real difference in our lives. We caught up on our rent, and the utilities, and were able to survive that much longer here. And the emotional support and purrayers have made a HUGE difference.

We are sorry if we offended anyone. Our hearts were just grateful for the kind thoughts and the financial assistance, no matter how small it was.

With love and gratitude,
brandi and Carol

ps. Yesterday was the 1st anniversary of our blog. Thank you everyone.

What a terrible rollercoaster of a time this is for you both. I'm so very sorry things didn't work out this time. May this coming month bring you both some sound opportunities for a new home and some work. I'm sure everyone is still cheering for you and you haven't offended anyone. Thinking of you both and sending you wishes for warmth and security :) xx

I'm so sorry you're having such tough times. Glad you can stay for a month. Before we moved to our new (and cheaper) place, mom got so sick of cleaning and cleaning and cleaning. But all that excercise helped her mood some and I purred a lot to help her. So Brandy, do lots of purrs and (if you have a place called the "Dollar Store" or something like that, there's this really great stuff called "Awesome" that only costs a dollar and cleans up kitty barf and other schmutzy/dirty stuff around the house. Mom says it's kind of magic and wonderful. I say it must be "awesome". Mom and I both hate cleaning up old apartments...even if we're still there. Hang in there there's always a new apartment you can clean..sorry bad joke.

I am really sorry to read that you lost the apartment. I really, really hope and pray that the temp job works out and that you can find a new place to live. What I think of your present landlord would involve using words from the bad word list, so I won't say it.

We are praying that the temp job will work out. Hopefully you will have insurance soon. Maybe it will work out for the best to have that extra month to pack. We hope you find an even better apartment than the one you didn't get. At least you should have warmer weather for moving. We are sorry that we can't help you with the actual move, but will keep you in our prayers and send more money when we can.

Happy Blog Anniversary!

I am sorry this didn't work out. I hope the jobbies start soon and your Mom is able to find a permanent one. And I hope that things stay calm where you are living and that another good place to live can be found once your Mom is working.

Meowm and I will continue with purrayers.

Hi Sugar Pie! Happy Anniversary for your blog! I'm glad you started so you could be my girlfriend cat. *blush* I'm glad you have a place to stay right now. We were really worried about you. You'll really need a good cleaning service once they do the pipes and drywall! Brandi dear, you make sure you are locked up tight when the mean landlord comes around so you can't sneak out and get lost or anything. Especially so nothing falls on you and gets your pretty furs messed up.
Gentle headbutts and purrs to your mommy and to you. I'm getting my teeth cleaned at the vet right now and I'm dreaming of you!
