Weekend Wrap-up

I hope everyone in the US has survived the celebrations. Mommy opened the blinds and watched several displays towards the east of us (Roseville, St. Paul area, and even off in the south east the fairgrounds). Maybe I shouldn't say towards, cause most of them were off in the distance.  Which meant mommy was happy seeing fireworks, but I was happy they were silent.
Yes, I stayed with her and didn't hide.  The neighborhood folks shot off a handful of boomers and that was it. Easy Peasy.
Mommy got her binoculars out and the fireworks appeared closer.  I found that the dangly thing that's supposed to be placed around the neck (mommy didn't do that) is a very fine toy. When she put the binoculars down, I played with the dangly thing and it was lots of fun.  Mommy even didn't say I couldn't!
Now this picture WAS taken during the fireworks on the 4th (after playing with the dangly thing and still while mommy was watching the fireworks):

See how I really was relaxed! Of course, Mommy was close by during all the "fuss" and that always helps!
Mommy took a picture of me on my new perch this weekend. A not very good one, I must say, but here it is:
She'll probably sneek more, and they will be better. The "Rolling Storage" (see, mommy, I can read!) is in my room right by the window.  This picture was taken in the afternoon, so there are no sunpuddles but it is a nice place to curl up, anyway, even without them.
That's my weekend wrap-up. Today is just as relaxing. *yawn* Nice day for a few naps! Mommy has left the a/c cooly thing on all weekend cause of the humidity and heat.  Isn't she nice? *yawn*
See you!

Wordy Wednesday

Mommy has been soooo lazy when it comes to my blog lately.  Oh, sure, we read our friends blogs and leave some comments, but she keeps saying "oh, I have to post this cute picture of you, oh, I have to let you tell about this new thing, or this happening" and all the sudden it is afternoon and guess what: NO POST.
Same thing is happening today.  But even if it's afternoon here, Mommy you are going to blog!
So here is my Wordy Wednesday which should have been Tuxie Tuesday or Monday News or, well you get the idea.

The weather has been really nice, and the windows have been open, and we have been having  sunpuddles and no rain!  I have been getting lots of nice massages (well, okay, lonnnggg massages. And I know that's one of Mommy's reasons for not letting me blog earlier today, but oooh it was so nice I didn't want her to stop!).
I have adopted a new place to hang out (top of a rolling cart in  my room that's by the windows). And I really really want in the pantry, but Mommy keeps saying NO. I did get in a couple of times. :-)
So July first was Canada Day (we hope our Canadian friends enjoyed their special day) and now the celebrations roll down to the States and tomorrow is our Independence Day. Other countries are having their own celebrations and festivals this summer (Bastille Day in France, the Jubilee in England AND the Royal Birth coming up, etc.). Isn't it nice to celebrate instead of mourn sad happenings?
We all should be more patriotic about our countries this summer and CELEBRATE. We need happy things around the Blogosphere!
Love to you all,
QUINN
NOW Mommy, we can read some blogs!

SuperMoon!

This was Mommy's second attempt at taking a picture of the SuperMoon last night. The first one was out of a better window, but all you could see was a reflection of Mommy (I think) and her fingers up close. And frankly it looked a little ... never mind. I'll just say weird.
It looks like a reflection of the flash. But that really was the moon.  I promise.  Big and beautiful. Maybe.
I think:
this cat will leave the scene in disgust.
I was informed that this is MY blog. Not the MOON's!

ps. SuperMoon was because the moon was really close to the earth, if anyone wants to know. If.

I'm Still Here!

We had an email from Jan (the Funny Farmer’s mom) asking how we were. We haven’t been around here lately.  Mommy hasn’t been typing for me!
So this is the news (but not in detail): Mommy has been having some medical problems recently, and that has caused some green paper problems, and that has caused some sads, and that has caused more medical problems and green paper problems. We just didn’t feel like spreading such bad news around.  We need help, and you all are kind, but some of you have problems of your own, and there have been LOTS of sads for a lot of us, so we have been silent. Help somehow, if you can. But there are others who need help too.
That’s it.
But I will tell you about the latest stuff. In more detail.
We did have our neighborhood parade (last year it “rained out”). I could hear the bands from here! And speaking of rain, we have been having torrential ones. Last night Mommy was sure the windows would be washed clean (the window cleaning project for the building was cut due to green paper problems. See? There are problems all around and not just Mommy and me!). The rains have just made them look dirtier! Rain is water, right?  How can water make windows look dirtier??
The lights went out in the whole neighborhood last night, but we have generators! Our lights came back on, but the neighborhood was dark. Our problem? Somehow our water cut off.  Maybe there’s flooding or something and they had to turn it off.  Mommy heard on the news before one of the storms last night that her old neighborhood had flooding problems, and a lot of other areas in town had flooding and fallen tree damage and no power. Her old building did not have backup generators, so they probably are still without power. So lots of neighborhoods are without power.  We are without water! That is not good either.
Mommy said if this continues lots of people will be dirty in church tomorrow--or think they have a good excuse to skip cause they have no power. And the vending machines that have water here? They don’t! So that is kind of scary. How does Mommy have coffee or tea or boil water for her soup or have oatmeal? How does she shower or wash clothes? How do I drink??  I only have a little water left! Let’s hope they fix the problem really soon!
Oh, and the special news (and there is some because I am special): Mommy has decided even though she has serious green paper problems that I shouldn’t suffer. So, after one trip to a food bank, she has ordered from Nip and Bones! I am to have a new bed and DA BIRD and another surprise. Some people will say Mommy is stupid for doing something like this, but they aren’t animal lovers I guess. Family should come first, right? And we are family! Check out Katie Isabelle’s blog for what brandi’s bed looked like. It disappeared. And, no, Katie didn’t steal it! Her's just looked like brandi's. And I should have not just brandi's quilt and blankie and stuff. I should have my own!
We will catch up soon. Give us some time. Speaking of time: time for my massage, Mommy!
Mommy calls me her little diva.
;-)
Love to you all,
 QUINN
GOOD NEWS! THE WATER IS BACK!!!!!

Hug Your Cat Day!

We have had all sorts of  sads lately: National disasters, passings over the Bridge, illness. And still there are good things like the Boy Scout who found one of us after a 2 day search, alive (who wanted Mommy and Daddy to be safe, too, and they were) in ruble caused by one of the tornadoes in Oklahoma.
So the Cat Blogosphere  (including some libraries and other businesses overseen by cats) is celebrating and reinforcing how dear WE are to our humans. Yes, today is
Thank you, Ann of Zoolatry, for your lovely graphic honoring this day. And us.
So go ahead.  You know you want to several times a day anyway. Hug your Cat! But maybe ask first? Some of us aren't into hugging.  How about extra treats???

We Are Sad

"Many of you will know Tim Samaras from Discovery Channel’s ‘Storm Chasers’, but news is coming into TheWeatherSpace.com that he, his son, and chaser Carl Young were among the people killed in Friday’s El
 Reno EF3 Tornado."

Mommy is sad for the families of these scientists. She was a fan of Storm Chasers. She has been  lucky to survive a few tornadoes. These were courageous men who made the world a little safer in a storm....

NEWS!

Wow! This Weekend is going FAST!  We wanted to tell you some news, and then mommy got into her cleaning mood.... Mode?
Anyway, on Friday, just after my announcement of the Coborn winners for Top Dog and Cool Cat, we got a visit from the man in the funny shorts. A box. Mommy exclaimed "It's here!" and quickly opened it.
There was something in it just for ME!

And what was it? MY FURMINATOR!!!!!!
And this is what it got from me:
And My Mommy said my furs were now soft and shiny and prettier than ever. But my question is, how did they find a way to make pretty prettier??? These Furminator people are Fantastic!
Yes, readers and faithful followers, I LOVE MY NEW FURMINATOR!
Yes, it makes me purr when My Mommy uses it.
Yes, it does make furs feel soft and sleek.
Nobody is sneezing a lot in this household!
Thank you lovely Jan for having your lovely drawing AND  YOUR PRAYERS! You are such a special lady. No matter what your Funny Farmers think of your thinking, you are always thinking of others.
Thank you lovely Furminator makers and Stephanie Ziprich at United Pet Group.
Thank you My Mommy, for opening the box and using the Furminator before you got into cleaning this weekend!!
You all have a lovely rest of the weekend, and get your easy on.  It's sunny and nice here.  Hope your home is full of Easy Sunday!
QUINN,
Soft and Sleek
